Álvaro Congosto’s work as a Filmmaker touches on a very wide variety of genres, including fiction, documentary and dance films among others. In all cases, Álvaro’s signature focuses on psychological development establishing a strong emotional bonding with the audience through a magical and poetic tone.
He is currently developing his first Narrative Feature as a Director/writer (A Taste of Chlorine) and will be releasing two feature documentaries in 2023 (The Dying of the Light and Our Lady of the Labyrinth).
He holds an MFA in Film Production from Boston University, where he studied with a Fulbright Scholarship. He has taught Film Production courses in Wheaton College and Boston University between 2012 and 2020 and now teaches at CREA for the University of Amsterdam.
